While not a bad idea, this is one of those trucks that lives on forever. I had a cousin go 30k miles without an oil change(at 300k+ miles), and it is still someone's daily driver.

Oh yes definitely, but there isn't much to go wrong here. When it does, parts are plentiful and cheap. If it's rusty, that is a whole different ball game there.
